Abstract The influence of heat transfer on magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) fluid flow past a vertical porous plate with variable sunction is studied. The nonlinear partial differential equation models were solved using the Crank-Nikolson finite difference scheme. A parametric study was performed to illustrate the impact of Ercket, Radiation, Grashof, Porosity, Magnetic, Prandtl and Heat source parameters on the velocity profile, skin fiction and Nusset number.
