EFFECTS OF DUFOUR AND HEAT SOURCE ON FREE CONVECTION FLOW OF KUVSHINSHIKI FLUID IN A POROUS MEDIUM

Abstract Free convective boundary layer Kuvshinshiki fluid past a vertical porous plate through a porous medium in the presence of uniform transverse magnetic field, thermal radiation and chemical reaction taking into cognizance effects of Dufour and heat source was studied. The governing partial differential equations in dimensional form were transformed into non ? dimensional ordinary differential equations using some dimensionless variables and solved analytically using perturbation method. Expressions for Skin-friction, rate of heat and mass transfer were obtained. The numerical values of the Kuvshinshiki fluid velocity, temperature and concentration at the plate are presented graphically for several values of the physical parameters. With the aid of the Figures and Tables, effects of governing parameters on the Skin-friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number was also examined and discussed.
