The study investigates ways in which Fast-Draw Model approach affects senior secondary one (SS1) students? academic achievement and attitude towards algebraic word problems solving in mathematics. The study adopted pre-test posttest quasi-experimental design. The investigation was conducted with 235 SS1 students in Kano Municipal Local Government Area of Kano State. The study uses two instruments; Algebraic Word Problems Performance Test (AWPPT), Students word Problems Attitude Questionnaire (SWPAQ) and Lesson guides as data collection tools. Students were pre-tested and post tested with these two instruments. The experimental group utilizes fast-Draw Model, while the control group was taught the same concept according to the lesson guide prepared by the researcher. The finding of the study reveals that fast draw approach increases students? academic achievement and their attitude towards algebraic word problems solving positively. It was recommended that in service teachers should adopt fast-draw model of instruction in their teaching and the pre-service teachers should be exposed to fast draw model strategies during their pre-service program.
