Abstract The study investigated effect of multimedia aided instruction on junior secondary one students? interest in geometry in Uyo Metropolis, AkwaIbom State, Nigeria. Two research questions and two hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study adopted quasi experimental research design. Purposive and simple random techniques were used for the study and sample size was 104 JS one students made of 41and 63 in experimental and control groups respectively. Geometry Interest Inventory (GII) was used for data collection. The GII had reliability of 0.84 using Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient. The research questions were answered using the mean and standard deviation while the hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results from the study revealed that students taught geometry using multimedia aided instruction showed greater interest in learning geometry than those taught using the conventional method. The study also revealed that both male and female students in experimental group have the same interest ratings. The study therefore, recommended among others that mathematics teachers should be encouraged to use multimedia aided instruction in their mathematics classroom.
